I am a dedicated student and teacher of yoga with a passion to promote healthy living, inner harmony and wellbeing for all. I offer private and group yoga classes in Hatha, Flow and Akhanda yoga, for both beginners and ongoing practitioners.

MY TRAINING

I completed my 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training at Anand Prakash Yoga Ashram in Rishikesh, India with the inspirational Yogrishi Vishvketu. I trained in holistic Akhanda Yoga, an integral and balanced approach that understands yoga as a complete system, grounding yogic and Vedic wisdom into our daily lives to create peace and harmony.  Akhanda, meaning whole, indivisible and complete, is a beautiful approach to yoga that blends authentic yogic teachings with a contemporary perspective, making the diverse teachings and many benefits of yoga accessible to all. I have been influenced by many wonderful teachers at yoga centres and ashrams in beautiful locations around the world including Bali, India, Central America and Europe, taking inspiration from many yoga approaches including Flow, Anusara, Kundalini, Yin and Restorative. I have also trained in the beautiful and transformative practice of Yoga Nidra as well as deeply nourishing Well Woman Yoga Therapy with Uma Dinsmore Tuli; the influences of both are present in my classes. I currently offer regular classes in Ashburton, Devon. I also offer 1:1'sworkshops and guided meditation.

TEACHING APPROACH

My teaching approach is meditative, balanced and holistic encouraging students to connect with and listen deeply to their own bodies. Whether dynamic or gentle and restorative, classes are designed to bring rejuvenation and restoration to all levels of the being, placing awareness on safety, alignment, inner enquiry and breath with an overall focus on cultivating balance and healing. Classes include a blend of postures, breathwork, soundwork, meditation and philosophy, balancing a commitment to body mechanics with guidelines for inner enquiry. I believe the wonderful benefits of yoga can be made available for every body and it is my passion to make this practice highly accessible to all regardless of age, flexibility or fitness level. I am passionate about bringing the practice of yoga off the mat, and offer tools to carry the practice forward into everyday life.

VOICE & SOUND

I am an advocate of the healing power of voice and sound, and have been deeply inspired by their positive effects in my own life. I have been influenced by inspirational teachings from different wisdom traditions including Tibetan Overtone Chanting, Shamanic Medicine Music, Bhakti Yoga, Sounding, Mantra and Kirtan. Live music and sound is often incorporated into my yoga classes, to uplift and restore, as a therapeutic tool and catalyst for healing.

WHY YOGA?

My journey with yoga has brought me much joy, freedom, clarity and healing. Whatever unfolds in my life, yoga provides the possibility to feel grounded yet uplifted, centred yet expansive, balanced and whole. This connection is the gift that yoga has granted me, and continues to offer with every practice, as well as the opportunity to bring the teachings into every moment of my life, for which I am infinitely grateful.

I love sharing this powerful, healing practice with others, empowering people to experience the freedom, balance, wholeness and rejuvenation of heart, mind, body and spirit that the practice of yoga brings.

"Your true nature is joyful, blissful, fearless and expandable. May you fully understand that at all times, you are whole and complete… akhand."
